Massage Therapist Q&A

What do you enjoy most about massage therapy?

The deep relaxation and tension relief is what I appreciate most about massage. Being able to reduce stress, pain, and discomfort in specific areas of the body can enhance not just sleep, but overall well-being.

How would you describe your technique/style?

I find my style to be therapeutic based. Keeping a rhythmic flow throughout the session and trying treat as many problem areas as I can. I never want to rush my work, so communicating and having a mind to muscle connection is important. I want my clients to leave sessions feeling better than when they first came in.

What do you think is a comfortable pressure to use on a client’s muscles?

The level of pressure can vary depending on preference and comfort level. For clients with thick/lean muscle, I would suggest medium-deep pressure if tissue is stiff or tight. I find that it’s best to start with a lighter pressure and gradually increase it based on my client's feedback. As well as, keeping communication with my client during the massage to ensure they are comfortable with the pressure being applied.
